Clauses

Noun clauses
From positive or negative sentences
  • I think that he is a good actor.
  • We know that the world is round.
  • That she does not understand me is obvious.
  • That ELOY is Quality is a fact.
From interrogative or tag
  • I wonder whether you need this blog.
  • Whether love me or not is unimportant to me.
  • I do not know if she will accept me.
  • I must decide whether I stay or leave.
From question words

Adjective clauses

The number of predication

Simple sentences
  • He answers no question.

Compound sentences
  • The father believes his son and he does the same.
  • The child is breaking glasses for he is disappointed.
  • A boy brought my luggage but he didn't ask me to pay.

Complex sentences
  • The book which i made last year change people’s life.
  • They close the doors which are used to take photos.
  • Students whom i taught English came to the class.
  • The architect who will suicide continues his work.
Compound-complex sentences
  • The father who has just lost his wife believes his son and he does the same.
  • The child who often plays here is breaking glasses for he is disappointed.
  • A boy whom i met in airport brought my luggage but he didn't ask me to pay.
  • Ellen must pay her meal or they will call the police whose office is the nearest.

Statements
Positive statements:
  • A boy is learning English in Eloy.
  • The teacher guides the class well.

Negative statements:
  • A boy is not learning English in Eloy.
  • The teacher does not guide the class well.
  • The school has not gotten the best award.
Questions
Interrogative questions:
  • Is a boy learning English in Eloy?
  • Does the teacher guide the class well?
  • Has the school gotten the best award?
Tag questions:
  • A boy is learning English in Eloy, isn't he?
  • The teacher guides the class well, doesn't he?
  • The school has gotten the best award, hasn't he?
Question words:
  • Who is learning English in Eloy? (a boy)
  • How does the teacher guide the class? (well)
  • What has the school gotten? (the best award)
Imperatives
  • Learn English in Eloy.
  • Guide the class well.
  • Get the best award.
  • Don't be lazy.

Exclamations
